Closing statement

Overall this not only has been a long, tiring process, it has also be exciting and rewarding, from dealing with conflicting schedules to the odd 5 minute laughing blooper, the creation of my main, and final ever product contains an array of emotions, I can definitely see the growth from AS to A2 in regards to my skills and work ethic, I am very proud and happy about the products I have created, being able to create something from an idea in your head to see it fully edited and published is an amazing feeling, this process has been worth all "Up All Night" blogging (pun intended) and 5+ hour editing sessions. I am proud of not only myself, but my teammates and my classmates.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation?

What have you learnt from audience feedback?

As you can see, we've made the changes we got from the audience feedback, the video is now much better with these changes and not only follows conventions but slightly challenges them too!

Student Digipak Analysis

This is a previous Students' Digipak, I like the house style and colour scheme used, there's a prevalent winter theme, however, I feel the CD is quite plain and there's little panels so it's not an accurate portrayal of  real Digipak which would usually contain at least 6 panels

Digipak analysis

I have done a digipak analysis on 4 different albums, two of which are rap, one pop and one rock, I done these range of genres to see how different genres of music create and present their music, from this I found that a digipak design is down to creative interpretation, most digipaks follow a basic structure of a front cover, back cover, left panel, right panel and an extra panel, however how it's laid out and accompaniments that come with it is down to the artist/production company

Final Digipak!

This is our final digipak, from looking at it I am quite happy that there's a clear housestyle however I feel it does need some major changes and revamping to move it to the top band, possible changes including adding a frame to the back cover, adding a side panel and making sure both pictures used for the inside cover look similar as one is darker than the other.

Digipak rough Ideas

This is a rough sketch one of my team members created for our digipak

As you can see there's a clear convention there, there's loads of money, jewlerry and girls, this correlates with the hip-hop/rap genre as it is very riches dominant. The album name 'money dance'  also correlates with the genre as it is about riches and connotes wealth

Audience Feedback on Advert

I posted my Advert on Instagram, I did this as this is the application that most of my target audience use, from doing this i got some comments on what people think of it, although there are only a few comments, it's clear that the advert has been well received by my target audience which is what I hopped would happen

Final Advert comparison

As you can see some pretty big changes have been made, firstly the 'Chidz' logo is much bigger, also 'now available on itunes' has changed from text to image and finally the advert main image has changed, I feel these changes were necessary to push the ad further and make it clear who the main artist is and who's album it is, i feel the advert i now much more cleaner and clearly aimed.

Final Advert

I made some changes to my final advert to make it stronger and show that 'Chidz' is the main artist

Firstly I increased the size of the Chidz and changed it to all gold, however I found that It didn't work well and didn't make any difference to the fact that they look like a group instead of the male being a single artist

To highlight the fact that Chidz is the main artist I changed the advert picture from a picture of him and two girls to just him

Possible final Advert

This is the Possible final advertisement for our music artist song/album, I still feel it doesn't meet the hip hop standards I want it to so it may undergo some changes

Rough ad ideas

These are some sketches I drew of a couple of ideas I felt woud be good for the album advert in a magazine

These next few are ideas I found more appealing so drew in more detail

Magazine ad

Because I'm creating a magazine ad for the album for my music video I've decided to look at other magazine ads for inspiration, these are some of my favorites:

From these I can see that advertisements for albums are quite simple and often have a house style limited  to 3 colours.

I have decided to use the Jessie J advert as a guidline for my advert, I have chosen this one because it's simple, easy to replicate however it's still effective in promoting her album, I like the darkness of the advert and the limitation to three colours- white, yellow and gold, this colour scheme is also followed by her outfit down to the little gold detail on her lipstick. This advert is minimalistic opposed to others like the  'wretch 32' poster and the 'janet jackson' one where the advert is dominated by words and graphics.

Logos

These are the final logos for the individual artists, however they are subject to change when creating advertisements in order to fit the house style of the said advertisement

Logo Ideas & Colour Schemes

Logo ideas

We've decided on the 3rd option for our male artists name and logo, we chose this font because its urban, it's got a great gritty texture to it and it's bold which makes it stand out.

We've decided on the 3rd option for our female artists and name and logo. we chose this font because it's feminine and is a great representative of the name ('Royal') also, it's bold and not too italicized or curly to understand.

Colour schemes

These are colour schemes we're looking at for our the logos for our artists, they're not definite as we don't feel some of the colours work well together however they do provide a good basis for colour scheme ideas.

Character profile/Casting

I have created a mini profile as of why we have chosen the people we have chosen to portray the main artists in our music video

I'm happy with the decisions made in regards to the casting. Both individuals have confidence, the hip-hop genre (fashion) look and are happily willing to participate in the making of our music video
