Conventions of a rock video

From watching multiple rock videos, Including Kings of Leon- Use Somebody and Sex on Fire, I have made a list of the most common elements in a rock music video

1. Dark colours
2. the use of night opposed to day time
3. Inclusion of backstage footage
4. Clip of the bands physically playing the instruments
5. Dark coloured clothing, mostly casual/scruffy tight clothing
6. The use of black and white
7. Close Ups of the lead vocalist
8. Fast editing
9. Wide shots of the band performing to a crowd
10. Studio backlighting
11. Religious symbols are often seen/worn i.e.: Crucifix Necklace
12. Men are usually the subjects and women are usually being the objects
13. Multiple panning shots, (a lot of camera movement)
14. Clips of the band bonding
